Cookie Policy

Last updated: · Effective:

This Cookie Policy explains how Fox Works Inc. uses cookies and similar technologies on GogoScreen: our website at https://gogoscreen.com and our web app. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

1. What these technologies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Websites can also keep information in your browser's local storage, session storage or database (IndexedDB). In this policy we call all of these "cookies and similar technologies". We also describe a device identifier our app works out from your browser's technical details.

2. What we use

Most of what we use is needed for the website and app to work, to keep them secure, and to remember your choices. On our website only, and only if you agree, we also use analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.

On our website

  • Cookie choice. A cookie named cc_consent_v1 remembers the choice you made in our cookie banner, for 12 months.
  • Preferences. Local storage remembers settings such as the language shown in code examples and the theme of our documentation.
  • Bot checks. Our contact and support forms can run a bot check from Cloudflare to tell people from automated programs. Cloudflare processes information about your browser and connection for this. Its privacy policy applies.
  • Analytics, only if you agree. If you accept analytics cookies, our website loads the two tools below, to count visits and see which pages and buttons are used. If you do not accept, we load neither of them.
    • Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager. Google Analytics sets its own cookies, such as _ga and cookies whose names start with _ga_, which Google says last up to 2 years. Google Analytics keeps the detailed records of your visits for 14 months. Google's privacy policy applies.
    • PostHog, to see how our website is used. PostHog keeps its identifiers and settings in a cookie and in a local storage entry, both named ph_ followed by our project key and _posthog. The cookie lasts up to 1 year from your last visit; the local storage entry stays until you withdraw consent or clear your browser's site data. PostHog also keeps a few entries whose names start with ph_ in session storage, which end when you close the tab. PostHog keeps the events it records for up to 7 years, depending on our analytics plan. PostHog's privacy policy applies.

In our app

  • Signing in. Our sign in provider keeps you signed in using your browser's storage.
  • Security. Some forms, such as sign up, sign in and account deletion, can run the same bot check from Cloudflare, as on the website.
  • Preferences and drafts. Local and session storage remember things like how you view your library, whether the support assistant is open, and unsaved changes to videos you are editing, so you do not lose work.
  • Device identifier. To help prevent fraud, the app works out a coded identifier from technical details of your browser and device and sends it to us when you create an account or sign in. We use it only for fraud prevention, never for advertising or to follow you on other websites. Our Privacy Policy explains what is sent and how long we keep it.

On both

  • Security session. Our servers set a session cookie when you sign in or send us a form, so they can check that requests really come from you. It lasts up to 24 hours.

Our website and app also send error reports and page performance data to our error monitoring provider, as our Privacy Policy describes.

Payments happen on pages run by Stripe, which may set its own cookies there under its own privacy policy.

3. Your choices

Analytics cookies are off unless you accept them. The other technologies described above run the Service, keep it secure or remember your choices, so blocking them in your browser can stop parts of it from working.

  • Change or withdraw your choice. Use Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page of our website. If you withdraw consent, the website stops sending analytics from that moment and removes the Google Analytics and PostHog cookies and storage it set. Information already sent to Google Analytics or PostHog before you withdrew is not deleted by this.
  • Categories in the banner. The banner also lists functional and marketing categories. Those two choices do not change anything today: we use no marketing cookies, and the preference storage described above is not controlled by the functional choice. Only the analytics choice switches anything.
  • Start over. You can also delete the cookies for our website in your browser settings. The banner will then ask you again.
  • Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser. If you block them for our app, you will not be able to stay signed in.

If we add other cookies that are not needed for the Service to work, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

4. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
